You Are One Of A Kind

This is one of my favorites.  I need to do it again and make all the fingerprints gray so that the characters show up better but I love the Black and White.  These stamps are adorable, designed by Kristina Werner for Simon Says Stamp.  This will be great for my card donations for Foster Care children and easy to do.

Just Hangin’ To Wish You…..

Loved how Therese Calvird of Lostinpaper made a cute sentiment shaker in the video tutorial “Fetti Friend Sentiment Shaker” for Reverse Confetti.  Unfortunately I didn’t have very many appropriate dies with matching stamps.  The perfect one for this technique is the “Love” sentiment in my previous post.  So I tried using the negative part of the die cut and using the cutout part instead of stamping.  This is difficult as it is harder to match up but it worked and maybe with a little more practice it would be easier.  I tried it with individual letter die cuts and failed.  Too hard to line up.  I like how this card turned out.  It has a simple clean look but it was not simple to do.  Practice makes perfect.

Products used:  Mama Elephant Page Huggers stamp set, My Favorite Things Party Balloons die, Simon Says Stamp Happy Birthday die, Barn Door, Twisted Citron, Mermaid Lagoon, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade Distress Inks, various beads and sequins.  Sentiment was done on the computer (no stamp)

Happy ‘B’ Day

Inspired by Simon Says Stamp Blog post and video by Laura Bassen, Amore Laura Fadora – Your the Bees Knees.  (Laura is one of my favorites)  I came up with this Birthday card.

I used Catherine Pooler’s Background stamp, Peppermint Stick Background, and two colors of ink to make the plaid background.  The Bee is from Penny Black’s Every Which Way stamp.  The day die used is from Paper Smooches Heartfelt Thanks Happy Birthday. and the Happy die is from My Favorite Things Happy Trio.  I loved how Laura put the third bee on the bottom of the card and off the card but I worked too hard on the bees to cut one off.  Thanks Laura.

I will be entering this in the Live Love Cards Challenge for this month.

Indigo Cats

I was so happy to find that Stampendous was making Laurel Burch stamps.  I ordered quite a few and would like more.  Here are my first two attempts.  I used Laurel Burch Dream Believers to get the colors.  I need to find my other Laurel Burch book for more ideas.  I used Zig Clean Color Brush Pens and they worked beautifully.  Embossed in gold but will try black outlines next time.

Spread The Love

I love this Penny Black die that I just got so here is another card today using it.  This one is a shaker card.  I used Nina Marie’s suggested method in video: Studio Monday with Nina Marie – Shaker Cards 3 Ways.  Using two pieces of acetate.  This method works great and the shaker material moves around much better.  I used three layers of foam tape so that I could make the cats stand up more.  The background is an embossed stencil.  The second card was made with an inlaid die from Catherine Pooler – Concentric Circles and I used the negative of the Feline die.

Inspire

I love the cats gazing up in the sky at the birds.  I used a Penny Black die, Feline.  Catherine Pooler stamps, Birds of a Feather and Catherine Pooler Inks.  I love the color combination.  I mounted it on an embossed background that was die cut from Mama Elephant, All Prettied Up frame.  and then mounted it all on Black cardstock.

Live Love Cards Challenge this month is “In The Sky” so I will enter this one.
