Sending Birthday Wishes with Gelatos

Master Class at Stamp Nation is featuring Gelatos.  I haven’t used mine in awhile so decided to get them out.  They are fun to use.  It gets a little messy but I came up with this and entered it in a challenge at Stamp Nation.

I used an embossed stencil butterfly that I had already made for another card, also Sugar Pea Enchanted Garden stamps and Catherine Pooler Designs Concentric Circle Die.

Winged Beauties

Inspired by Darlene of Live Love Card’s video “Nuvo Mousse and Stencils.   Stencil is My Favorite Things “Winged Beauties”  and I used Nuvo Silver Mousse for the Silver Butterfly and I mixed Perfect Pearls with Ranger Texture Paste for the Pink Butterfly.  I used Catherine Pooler’s Birds of a Feather stamp for the feather and embossed it with Ranger Black Sparkle embossing powder.

To keep with the Live Love Cards June Challenge Theme, I doodled the scribbly lines by hand bordering the light gray cardstock.  I am not great at doodling but carefully followed Darlene’s instructions.

You are Sew Nice

Had a great time today just spending time looking at the stamps I had and using some that I haven’t ever used.  I was inspired, to start out with, by Kristina Werner’s blog post and video today “Masked, Blended, and Stamped Background with Distress Oxide Inks.”  I had a lot of border stamps so I pulled them all out and used them.  I used the same colors and when I got through it just looked like sewing to me.  So I dug around some more and found some word stamps and dies and then made my own word “sew”  from an alphabet stamp set and made the sentiment to fit the sewing motif.  This was so much fun to do and I was happy with the results.

No Clouds, No Rainbows

This card was made for Live Love Cards Encouragement Cards for Foster Children.  I love making these cards because they are fun to do.

This card was inspired by a technique I was trying that I saw on Stamp Nation using Faber Castell Gelatos and stencils.  I applied several colors of blue gelatos and blended them with my fingers.  Then used a Hero Arts Stencil (Waves) and sponged water onto the stencil.  It removes the color and it ended up looking like wind.  So I went on from there to finish the card.

I used:

  • Hero Arts My Monthly Hero February 2017 for the sentiment and the rain.  I embossed the rain drops with Hero Arts Sparkle Clear Embossing powder.  For the inside of the card I painted a rainbow and used another stamp from the Hero Art’s set, “Learn to Dance in The Rain”
  • Stampendous Spring Short Stack stamp set.
