Relax, Chill Out

I love these Penguins from My Favorite Things.  This was a fun card to make.  I colored the penguin, tree and drink  with Zig Kuretake Clean Color Real Brush Pens. I made a shaker pocket with Imagine Vertigo plastic sheet and cut a slit and inserted the Penguin so it appeared to be floating in the water.  I love this Vertigo plastic.  I looks so much like water.  I colored the plastic with Salty Ocean Distress Ink.  This takes a long time to dry so I think next time I will just back it with a blue background.  Added a little glossy accents on the inner tube and drink glass.  Added a little distress ink to colored cardstock to give a sandy beach look.  A great Get Well Card for a niece.

Welcome to my blog. I started my blog so that I could share all of the things that I am passionate about not only in the creative world but in all areas of my life. I retired over 10 years ago from the field of education. I was a Resource Specialist in a Teacher's Resource Library. My job allowed me to do the things I love every day. I love creating things with many different media. Papercrafting is my favorite. I helped teachers create bulletin boards and instructional materials for their classrooms. Now that I am retired I spend a lot of time creating cards and I love all of the different techniques and media available. I also am very active in wildlife conservation and spend many hours volunteering with the Wildlife Conservation Network.
